- 1 cup red lentils, soaked 2–4 hours and drained
- 1 medium carrot, grated
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp chopped cilantro or parsley

- Pinch of chili flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp rice flour or chickpea flour (binder)
- Ghee or sesame oil for pan frying

- Pulse soaked lentils in a food processor until chunky paste forms (not fully smooth)
- Mix in grated carrot, onion, herbs, spices, flour, and salt
- Form small patties (about 2 inches wide)
