2. Ritual Construction Method

• Materials: 1″ x 6″ x 4′ cedar board (or pine, untreated), 1″ x 10″ x 12″ board for roof, galvanized nails/screws, wood sealer or paint (optional)

1. Cutting the Wood: Front & Back: 10″×5½”, Sides: 12″×5½”, Floor: 4″×5½”, Roof: 10″×12″
2. Drill Entrance Hole: 1½” diameter, centered 6″ from bottom of front panel
3. Ventilation & Drainage: Vent holes near top sides; notches in floor corners
4. Assembly: Secure sides, floor, front (pivoting), and roof (with overhang)
5. Finishing: Sand all edges smooth, optional sealing (avoid interior and hole)

• Location: Open areas, sparse ground cover
• Height: 4–6 feet above ground
• Orientation: Face east or northeast
• Spacing: 100 yards between boxes
• Protection: Add a baffle to deter predators
