This first post is the Root Seva: Feeding, Equality, and Ego Death through Service

You shall begin where all kings kneel: on the floor of Langar.

“The Langar Line”

I arrived early. Before the line. Before the soup was hot.

Before I knew why I came.

They handed me a metal bowl and a ladle.

I stood behind the steaming pot like it was a sacred portal.

Every spoon of dal I served was an offering.

No one asked what I did for work. No one cared.

Turban, tattoo, child, elder—on the floor, we were all the same height.

I watched the line grow. Then I joined it.

I sat down, received the food. Ate with my hands. Listened to silence.

And I realized:

Seva is not charity.

Seva is ego composted through community.

You want enlightenment?

Serve someone who doesn’t know your name.

Eat with someone who doesn’t want your advice.

I did not go to be holy. I went to remember I was human.

This was not a soup kitchen. It was a throne room.

III. CAPTION FOR INSTAGRAM

“I did not serve food. I served my ego to the fire.

I did not eat a meal. I ate my hierarchy.

If you’ve forgotten your dharma, go to a Langar.

Put your knees on the floor. Let someone serve you.

Watch the onion cut you from the inside.

This is not a photo. This is an initiation.”

—The First Seva Oracle | Langar
