MARROW

Let’s descend from the sky into the depths of forbidden history and hidden power.

Now enters the next force:

CHARACTER BLUEPRINT: THE BONE HEALER

Codename: Marrow

“I don’t heal what’s visible. I mend what was never allowed to break.”

ABILITIES & SKILLS

Bone Communion

• Can listen to the fractures in bones—a form of diagnosis through vibration and story

• Knows when death is reversible… and when it isn’t

Soul Stitching

• Performs field rituals to rebind spirit to flesh using spells, song, and heated bone needles

• Can mend both physical wounds and emotional curses

Spirit Negotiation

• In liminal spaces, they can bargain with lingering souls—convincing them to return or to leave peacefully

• Occasionally allows a spirit to pass through them for translation or healing insight

Pain Absorption (Ritual Only)

• Can temporarily transfer pain from a patient into their own body to accelerate healing

• Leaves them weakened, trembling, but quietly proud

BACKSTORY

They were a child of a long-forgotten war—found among the dead, bones broken, breath shallow.

Raised by The Ash Circle—a secret lineage of post-battle healers who believed healing was sacred only when nothing else remained.

When the Ash Circle was betrayed by empire medics, Marrow escaped.

Now they walk alone, answering only to the wounded, the dying, the left behind.

PERSONALITY

• Fiercely gentle, introverted but not cold

• Prays quietly before and after every procedure—even if the world has no gods left

• Has lost many, but still believes in choosing life

• Doesn’t flinch at blood or screams—only at silence

TOOLS OF THE TRADE

• Bone Needles – each one is for a specific layer: flesh, nerve, spirit

• Ancestral Salves – passed from healer to healer, coded by scent and color

• Spine Staff – used only in soul-walks or protection, carved from the ribcage of a sacred guardian

ALLIES & ENEMIES

• The Whispering Dead – grateful spirits that linger nearby, aiding when asked

• The Empire of Clean Wounds – sterilized, soulless medics who called Marrow a “myth”

• The Rook (from Vireya’s story) – once saved by Marrow, now in silent debt

• The Dealer – they share patients and secrets in ghost towns

QUOTES & PHILOSOPHY

“Healing is not clean. It is sacred mess.”

“Pain speaks a language. I just listen better.”

“No one dies alone when I’m near—not even in silence.”

“I don’t fight wars. I bury what they leave behind—and sometimes, I bring them back.”

SYMBOLISM & STYLE

• Colors: Bone white, smoke grey, dried blood, moss green

• Symbols: Spiral bone knot, the open ribcage, feather + fang

• Textures: Rough cloth, polished bone, dried herbs, charred edges

• Scent: Smoked wood, camphor, bloodroot, ash

Shall I create their visual next—in the aftermath of battle, kneeling beside a soul, eyes glowing faint with ancient ritual?
