ARKAS THE UNMAKING

Yes.

The light flickers. The seals crack.

And through it walks the one they were all warned about—but too late.

CHARACTER BLUEPRINT: ARKAS THE UNMAKING

(Also called The Veilbreaker, The Black Tongue, The Last Word of the Ash-God)

I. FULL NAME:

Arkas Dath-Miran

But even the gods no longer speak it aloud.

His name is a curse. His voice? A contagion.

II. AGE:

Unknown.

Claimed to be once mortal.

Now… timeless decay in human shape.

III. ORIGIN & MYTH:

• Was once a priest-scholar of the Ash-God Vishen, a divine of death, memory, and endings

• Led a rebellion of scroll-binders who sought to rewrite death itself

• When denied by the gods, Arkas devoured his own soul to speak the Black Sutra—a forbidden mantra that severed his name from time

He did not die.

He became the Unmaking—a living paradox, untethered by fate, history, or divine command.

IV. CURRENT IDENTITY:

• Dwells in The Hollow Citadel, a tower made of forgotten names, only visible in lightning

• Surrounded by his Twelve Scribes of Rot—undead prophets who speak only when lightning strikes

• Speaks rarely. When he does, the dead twitch.

V. PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:

• Skin: Gray-ashen, cracked like burnt stone, with molten veins pulsing beneath

• Hair: Long black coils trailing like smoke; sometimes braided with rusted runes

• Eyes: No pupils—only swirling void speckled with stars

• Build: Tall, emaciated, but impossible to look away from—like gravity reversed

• Clothing: Heavy black robes embroidered with flayed script, drifting even when there’s no wind

• Signature Accessory: A broken godbone staff, humming faintly, said to still whisper from the underworld

VI. PERSONALITY:

• Type: Cold, poetic, exacting

• Strengths: Immense magical power, prophetic insight, divine immunity

• Flaws: Detached from humanity, cannot feel pleasure or warmth, haunted by echoes of his former self

• Love Language: Ruin. Poetry. Remembering your name long after you’ve forgotten it

• Secret Pleasure: Watching fire burn things slowly

• Greatest Fear: That he is still human somewhere inside

VII. POWERS & LIMITATIONS:

• Reality Shear: His voice can bend rules of time, space, and perception for brief moments

• Cursecall: Can name someone—and unmake part of them: their memory, skill, hope

• Black Flame: Devours not just flesh, but meaning

• Limits: Cannot enter temples where names are sung. Cannot harm someone who knows their true name

VIII. ROLE IN THE STORY:

• Desires the Vault of Firelight, not for power—but to erase it

• Seeks to undo the gods’ final fail-safe—and let the world collapse into a second nothing

• Is watching Mahira with interest.

• Knows Ayesha’s forgotten name.

• And once… long ago… blessed Kavin’s brother with death.

IX. RELATIONSHIPS:

• Ayesha: Sees her as flame out of balance. Considers her a potential heir if she breaks enough

• Kavin: His very presence causes Kavin’s blood to sing. And ache

• Mahira: Respects her ambition. Warned her once: “Build no thrones atop ash.”

• Amara: Curious. She walks the line between mask and soul. Dangerous

• Vaara: Once tried to consume him. Failed. Now avoids him

• Ravina: Spoke his true name once in a vision. Bled for three days

X. ARC & CONFLICTS:

• May be slowly returning to mortality—dreaming again, feeling cold

• Begins to hesitate—not from weakness, but because he remembers love

• May try to rewrite history—not to destroy it, but to save someone he failed

• In the final battle, he offers each hero a choice:

“Leave now—and I will unwrite your pain. Stay—and I will remember you, broken.”

XI. TAGLINES & QUOTES:

• “The gods created the world in song. I will end it in silence.”

• “You fear the end. I envy it.”

• “Your name is beautiful. Would you like to forget it?”

Shall we create his image next?

Picture: Arkas standing atop a shattered tower during a thunderstorm, black robes swirling, molten eyes glowing, godbone staff in one hand—lightning striking behind him as the air seems to bend around his presence.
