[Book Rec] The Healer Within by Roger Jahnke

February 7, 2018

I love this book.
I’ve been big on Traditional Chinese Medicine for a few years now. Things like herbs, acupuncture, and recently qigong.

In the West, the newer terminology for these types of techniques is known as “energy medicine” while in the East, these types of techniques have existed for thousands of years and is known as qigong (translated as “energy work”).

So, if you’re into EFT or Donna Eden’s Energy Medicine, this book will be right up your alley.

This is a self-help, diy, self-healing type book that I was able to put into practice right away. Written back in 1997.

In Chinese medicine, ALL health issues arise from blockages in qi. And the cure is to remove the blockages so that qi flows freely. Thus these techniques can stand alone in your health recovery or as a complimentary tool to add on to things you’re already doing.

Roger gives us four easy to do tools in this book.
Body Movements (A type of Qigong)
Self-Massage (Reflexology)
Breathwork (Deep belly breathing)
and Meditation (To attain deep relaxation).

All these tools help move the qi and relax the body so that “the healer within” can do its work to fix what ails us.
