Should you start a blog?

June 7, 2017

Yes. Obviously.
The more important question to ask is if you have the right to express yourself?

We live in a noisy world.
Everyone is tweeting, instagramming, yelling, screaming, and making videos of stuffing themselves with dumplings.

And that’s ok.

Humans are self-expression machines. We need to create something or we wither away.

Whether that creation is singing, dancing, drawing, playing the guitar, cooking, gardening, making movies, funny podcasts, or even writing, it doesn’t matter. Whatever comes out of you is what needs to come out.

Maybe you like to build little toy robots. You like to make music beats. You like to design better water bottles because all the ones in the stores suck.

Writing is just a form of creation.
You have a thought and you create it into the world by writing it down. You could always keep a private journal, hidden away under lock and key, and no one has to know about it. But what would be the fun in that? Every creation needs an audience or it doesn’t exist.

The urge to express is so strong that folks even resort to carving messages on public bathroom walls and in those deep dark caves thousands of years ago!

Keep writing and don’t stop, if that’s your bliss.

What if it sucks?
So what?

It can’t be any worse than the shit people write in youtube comments! Anything you love and keep doing for a long time has no choice but to improve.

So yes, start a blog.
At first you’ll notice that you’re the one creating the blog. After a while, the blog creates you. It’s a fascinating thing to experience.
