High Carb, Low Fat Diet Experiment (aka HCLF Vegan / Plant Based)

December 13, 2016

I never thought the day would come when I would eat copious amounts of fruits as my main meals and be fine with it. But here I am!

There are many reasons people eat a plant based diet.
Some do it for ethical reasons because they don’t want animals to suffer. They also care about the environmental damage caused by raising tons of livestock for us to eat, so switching to plants means a cleaner earth.

Those are all fine reasons, but I started this diet for health reasons.

I started eating a plant based diet with a focus on high carbs after reading Life Changing Foods by Medical Medium Anthony Williams. He convinced me that plants contain the most amount of nutrients out of all the foods and have medicinal effects on our body. He also convinced me that fruit fear is unfounded and eating more of them means better health.

I’ve been on this diet for three weeks now, eating tons of bananas, oranges, wild blueberries, mixed berries, and raw honey as most of my meals. One or two meals per day include white potatoes or sweet potatoes, with some type of non-starchy vegetable like spinach, cauliflower, cabbage, sprouts, onions, or whatever else is in the fridge. I also eat rice and lentils, though they’re not listed as the top 50 foods, but they aren’t banned either.

I feel really good eating this way.
My energy levels are increasing daily. My hunger levels are low. Cravings for meat or eggs are gone. Out of around 88 meals so far, only 2 have had any meat in them and 5 meals have included tuna. Those were in the beginning phase. Lately it’s been starch central over here and my body is delighted with all these carbs.

So I decided to do some research into the high carb, low fat world, because it’s so new to me. Turns out they have been around for decades! It’s kinda like finding out that the Earth was never flat nor round but rather a cube. How is that possible?!

I wanted to share with you some videos that were helpful.
