Trump’s Ghostwriter Tony Schwartz Blasts Donald

July 19, 2016

This is a fascinating read.

Tony Schwartz wrote Donald’s famous book The Art of the Deal back in 1987. Which turned Trump into a lovable business hero. The arc could be made from that moment being the reason for his current rise in politics.

Now, after nearly 30 years, Tony is feeling deep remorse.
Because what he wrote was mainly putting “lipstick on a pig.” Meaning, most of the book was b.s. meant to make DT look good, even though deep down Tony was disgusted by his self-obsessed subject. Tony wrote the book because he needed the money.

I’ve read a few pages of The Art of the Deal.
This is a book usually touted as one of the bestselling and famous business books of all time. For some reason or another, I never finished reading it. There was a time, about 16 years ago, that I thought DT was the king of business. After discovering folks like Warren Buffet, Charlie Munger, Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Ben Franklin, Andrew Carnegie, Walt Disney, Henry Ford, and others, I know better.

And I know Tony mainly from his Energy Project books.
The Power of Full Engagement. I’ve also seen him speak at seminars on this topic. But it never clicked in that this was the same Tony that wrote the DT book.

Anyways, enough of me talking.
I recommend the following New Yorker article highly.
