Emotions are Contagious

May 20, 2016

Wow, ok.

So I stumbled onto a Psychology Today article that says what I’ve intuitively known for a while but couldn’t articulate well.

Good vibes. Bad vibes.
Moods of others affect you. Your mood affects others. Some folks are energy drainers. Others are up-lifters. A bad mood is catchable by being near that person.

This is similar to the study of social circles and how it affects our weight. They say if a friend of our friend is obese, the likelihood of us being obese increases. The reverse is also true, being friends with fit healthy people increases likelihood of us being fit.

From the article:

“A person’s happiness is related to the happiness of their friends, their friends’ friends, and their friends’ friends’ friends—that is, to people well beyond their social horizon.”

Pretty cool to know.

This probably has to do with auras, chakras, and our energy field, according to spiritual folks. How we are connected to everything and everybody, thru the energetic grid.

Or as the science folks say, it has to do with our body’s electromagnetic biofield, and how our heart can communicate with other hearts up to a certain distance.

I’m sure emotional contagion happens even if we’re listening/watching/reading using technology and not near a physical human. Podcasts, videos, tv shows, movies, music, blogs.
