[book review] How to Heal Yourself When No One Else Can by Amy B Scher

March 19, 2016

This is a must buy book.

Especially if you have some type of illness/health challenge that won’t go away no matter what you try.

What I like about this book is that Amy has lived the path of healing her own “incurable” Lyme Disease. That gave the book immediate credibility in my eyes. No theory or studies, straight up what worked for her and how that could also help us.

It took her a long time (I think 10yrs?) of trying different things to finally be able to heal herself. First, doctors told her she didn’t have Lyme. Later she realized the lab was wrong and another lab said she did have it. When traditional paths failed her, she went to India to try stem cell therapy. Then traditional Chinese therapy. Eventually stumbled onto energy medicine & spiritual techniques and that helped her out.

This book is full of techniques, laid out in a step by step manner. Some of the stuff, I already knew (eft, meridians, prayer, chanting, standing muscle test). Other stuff, I did not (grounding with spoon, arm muscle test, thymus test, chakra tapping, etc). Browse the table of contents on amazon to get an idea of what all is included.

I’ve read Energy Psychology, Energy Medicine, EFT, prayer books, you an heal your life books, etc. Amy puts all those techniques into an understandable useful manner and I learned something new in each chapter.

I’ll be using Amy’s book to cure my own seemingly never-ending issues.
Depression, weight gain, adrenal fatigue, digestive issues, bloat, arm numbness, seasonal affective disorder, skin issues, candida, low mood, low energy, etc.

All those issues are related to one thing.
This I figured out last night, while doing some of the tapping that Amy suggests. All my problems stem from me being a highly sensitive person and an empath. Seems obvious now but I had never realized this before.

I’ll keep you updated.
