dalailamascatYou will like this book for sure. I breezed thru it super fast.

David Michie smartly combines the awesomeness of cats with lessons about developing a mindfulness practice. It’s like learning personal finance thru Rich Dad Poor Dad. Or spirituality thru The Alchemist.

The story is told from the point of a kitten who was left for dead in the slums of New Delhi. She’s miraculously rescued by The Dalai Lama and becomes his pet.

She encounters all the happenings in the monastery: Dalai Lama’s routine, his assistants, his cook, various characters in the neighborhood, famous actresses and dignitaries coming to visit, etc.

While eavesdropping on others, she learns valuable lessons for her own young life. Eating too much feels great at the moment but pay the price in weight gain. Licking yourself is fun but the price is the pain and embarrassment of coughing up fur balls.

Check it out if you want a light fun read about the inner life of a cat. And you’ll learn some mindfulness lessons along the way.
