Honesty is overrated

August 8, 2015

Honesty is bs.

If I’m angry at you, there will be a thousand hateful thoughts running in my mind.
And if I were honest, without a filter, I’d aim those arrows straight at your heart and let loose.

When I’m driving and some focker cuts me off, my initial reaction is to kill that dude.
I want to honk my horn, yell out the window, and give him the middle finger.
That’s the honesty of the moment.

But when I’m calmer, I no longer feel hatred.
And I’ll regret all the things I did during the passion of the moment.
Honesty is overrated.

Truth, on the other hand, is underrated.
Truth arises from our deep inner being.
When we are silent, calm, present, contemplative, meditative.
Truth isn’t swayed by emotions. Truth never changes.

More truth. Less honesty.
