The first choice we will face while living:
To live a conscious life vs unconscious life.

This is something that is thrown on us thru an awakening.
Maybe a dream, trauma, near death, psychedelic experience, or something of that sort.
It will be a big wake up call.

At that point, we decide if we will continue to live like unconscious Orcs or be more like the conscious Elves in Lord of the Rings.

Next important choice:
Be a (wo)man of the world vs renunciate

Both choices are probably fine.
But in the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna tells Arjuna that it’s better to live in the world than be a renunciate.

Maybe that message is for people like us who need to live in this world. And more evolved beings can become reunciates in another lifetime?

Renunciates:
Buddha
Christ
Dalai Lama
Thich Nhat Hanh
Pantanjali
Paramahansa Yogananda
Mother Teresa
The Pope
Monks & Yogis living in caves

(Wo)man of the world:

Teachings of Abraham Hicks (aka law of attraction)
Teachings of Bashar
Louise Hay & Hayhouse publications
Oprah
Bill & Melinda Gates
Think & Grow Rich
Andrew Carnegie (donated all his wealth)
Warren Buffett (donated all his wealth)
Jeff Bezos (pays himself meager salary)
Elon Musk (pays himself $1 salary)

This has been an important fork in my road for the past few months.
I didn’t know which way I wanted to go. But last night, it came to me that I want to be a man of the world. I want to play in the world in a conscious deliberate way rather than be a renunciate monk.
