iPhone WiFi Not Working (Solution)

December 9, 2013

“Most people give up just when they’re about to achieve success. They quit on the one yard line.” – Ross Perot

One of the most frustrating issues of the past couple months has been my iPhone 4s refusing to connect to my home wifi router.

I tried everything everyone suggested

1. iPhone settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Did not work.

2. Turn iPhone off, then on.
Did not work.

3. Log into router & hit refresh.
Sometimes worked.

4. Change password for router & reconnect with iPhone
Sometimes worked.

This is not a big deal in terms of life, but an annoyance that was driving me insane.

It’s been a bunch of weeks that I’ve lived with this problem. Until I decided to try one more time. Somewhere thru google searching, someone mentioned that it worked for him after one small tweak to the steps.

SOLUTION:

Step 1a: iPhone settings > Airplane mode > Turn On

Step 1b. Reset Network Settings

Step 2. Reconnect to home wifi again (will work!)

Lesson learned: Keep trying. The solution is usually one simple tweak away. Wonder what other annoying aspects of life I can apply this to?

Hope this helps you.
