How To Become Neo in The Matrix (& Master Life’s Secrets)

It is possible to see the world for what it really is.

It’s possible to see the gears behind seemingly complex things.

It’s possible to look at a stranger and see thru their social mask. It’s possible to see thru people’s lies or games or unconscious social programming. It’s possible to know what’s going to happen before it does.

It’s possible to see thru patterns of how life/people/animals/life/whatever happens.

It is possible to become like Neo in the Matrix.

And you don’t have to climb a remote mountain and meditate with monks to learn all of this. You can do this, right now, step by step, from the comfort of your own home.

Figuring this out was a life-changer.

All my life, I thought things were just complex & difficult things that other “smart” people figured out and I’ll never learn.

Things like: how to buy stocks & actually make money, how to run a business, how to do my own taxes, how to negotiate, how to tell if someone is lying, how to talk to girls, the mating process, how to drive, how to lose weight, how to learn a new skill, how to have a calm mind, how to become present, how to have self confidence, how to be happy, realizing everyone is living the same life even if they don’t admit it publicly, knowing how a person will react or respond before she even knows, and much more.

There is a predictable formula to each and every single thing in our universe that we can learn.

Note: these things above may seem simple to you but each one of these things I really 100% deep down believed I will never learn. Especially how to drive. I was absolutely terrified and had practically given up the first few times I practiced driving. Now, I’m a fucking pro and every time I drive with ease on a highway – it’s a reminder that if I can master that, anything is possible.

Now I see thru a lot of things and realize we all can. There is no big secret or magic.

This is where true power lies. This is where true inner game happens. Self confidence. Self esteem. Mastery. The Force. Whatever you want to call it.

Anyways, I won’t go into too much detail and ruin the fun for you. I just wanted to convey the message to you that there are formulas for everything.

And you (yes you, sitting shirtless on your couch reading this right now) can learn them pretty quickly.

Step 1: Format your mental hard drive

The hardest part in learning secrets is our own existing mental operating system.

The part of us that distrusts new “out there” info as fake, scam, nonsense, nonscientific, not conforming to our religion, whatever.

This is the #1 reason most people will resist.

If you can somehow overcome this huge false hurdle, the rest is easy.

Formula book: Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind

Note: This is a hard read but is the favorite of many successful people, including Phil Jackson.

Quick summary: If you can get to the point where you accept all ideas as possibly valid, without any preconceived notions – that’s where the true magic happens.

Psychics? Sure, why not. Tarot cards? Astrology? Atheism? Law of attraction? Christianity? Islam? Tea Party? Communism? Whatever. Just say yes to all, and read it with an open mind.

Then you can absorb the good from everything and just trash the garbage.

Why?

Because there is a kernel of truth in everything.

And the person who collects the most kernels of truth becomes the true master. And this is not a zero sum game. Many can become masters at the same time.

But what if I accidentally join a cult?

Well, I think most problems come from believing in only ONE idea and letting your mind become a stone.

Instead, if you believe in everything, it’s hard to join a cult. Because your mind will be very pliable and you will be saved from differing ideas.

ie: If you believe in Christianity and Atheism at the same time, you’re not going to err. Because Atheism does a tremendous job demolishing a lot of the bullshit that organized religion preaches.

And if you’re an Atheist and read religious text with an open mind (Buddhism, Hinduism, etc) your brain will automatically filter out the bullshit and absorb the great life principles.

Here’s a new twist on a common thought process:

Religious people are atheists when it comes to all other religions, except their own one.

Atheists just take it one step further.

And I honestly think Atheism is one of the most powerful mental operating systems one can adopt. Because it frees you from conservative religious nonsense.

But I truly believe the most powerful operating system is one that believes everything, at the same time.

This will make sense as you continue your self-improvement journey, trust me.

Step 2: Learn from the masters

Here are some cool “secrets” books I’ve found.

And I’m just a beginner. So I still have a lot of learning to do.

Btw, you don’t have to read all or any of these books. If any one subject appeals to your heart’s desire, then pick that as your starting point. If it doesn’t, maybe another book will come into your life that’s suited to your taste.

In no particular order:

1. Inner Game of Tennis

Amazing quick read. A tennis teaching pro uses tennis as a medium to teach the larger concept of inner game. I am in the camp that believes inner game trumps all. Master the mind & master all of life. This is the one skill that helps all other skills.

2. Four Hour Chef

Like above, Tim Ferriss uses cooking as an example on how to learn any skill, efficiently. Yes, there is a formula and he shares it!

3. Comedy Writing Secrets

A sense of humor is probably the greatest social skill to develop. Here are the secrets & formulas on how to do that!

4. A Practical Guide to The Hero with a Thousand Faces – the famous Disney memo by Chris Vogler (or you can read Joseph Campbell’s Book)

Our society uses myth to share values & stories to new generations. Myth is involved in everything: music, movies, tv shows, books and life. ie: Star Wars. I personally believe that each one of us is literally (yes, let me repeat, LITERALLY) living our own version of a hero’s journey. And there is a formula/pattern. Wouldn’t it be useful to learn the formula first to recognize the patterns in advance?

4b. The Hero’s 2 Journeys (outer & inner journey) + Using Myth to Power Your Story

These two audio lectures helped me out tremendously in understanding myth structure. Uses movies as a medium to teach us the hero’s journey. Both by Chris Vogler, the famous Disney screenwriter.

4c. Save the Cat Goes to Movies or Myth & The Movies

These books reveal the secret formulas of some of the most popular movies. Super fun read. Remember that art imitates life & life imitates art. A lot of movies are speaking truths, masked as fiction. There is no fiction. Only truth.

5. Signal and Noise: Why Most Predictions Fail & Some Don’t

Written by the master of political polling analysis: Nate Silver. What can we do when bombarded with data? How do we pick out the “signal” from the “noise”? Nate shares his views. This skill is invaluable in all aspects of life.

6. The Happiness Hypothesis

Exactly how to become happy. There is a formula! Figured out by highly credible psychologists. Why I waited so many years to read this, who knows! Easy read. Ps: don’t get the audio version, I did and it was hard to listen. Book is much better.

7. Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion

This is probably one of the top must reads of all time. These tools of influence are used on us by marketers, friends, family, enemies, etc every day. Awareness is the key to break the cycle. Super easy read. This book was so powerful, Charlie Munger donated some of his berkshire stock to the author!

8. Secrets of Power Negotiation

Easy fun read on how negotiation works. Once you learn the insider secrets, you will notice when others try to use this on you. You will become Neo to other people’s use/abuse of negotiation tricks.

9. Moneyball

How to value things properly, using baseball as an example. How can you win if you are severely disadvantaged to your competition who are all flush with much more money? Invent systems to “see” things others are incapable of seeing. This skill comes handy when it comes to valuing stocks, buying homes, hiring employees or whatever else you can think of.

10. The Score Takes Care of Itself by Bill Walsh or Sacred Hoops by Phil Jackson

If you love sports, these two books are easy fun reads on the behind the scenes secrets to becoming a champion. Hint: hard work, perseverance & strong inner game.

11. The Way of The Superior Man

Forget the pickup lines, tricks & tactics. This is a deep inner game book on how to be the man that attracts a high quality woman.

12. The E-Myth: Why Most Businesses Don’t Work & What To Do About It

This is written in an easy to read fictional story format. We humans tend to learn best when we read a story rather than a boring book with facts.

12b. Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make The Leap & Others Don’t

Uses real life examples of companies doing great & others not.

13. Slow Sex: The Art & Craft of the Female Orgasm

Written by a woman, telling us men exactly what to do. Enough said!

14. Think & Grow Rich

A good primer on creating abundance into your life (law of attraction). A favorite of many successful people.

Bonus Hotness: Christina Aguilera Songs

So this is a new secret tool I just figured out, in the past month.

A lot of us males wonder what women really want. They seem like a moody, sassy, irrational mystery.

I was listening to music from the 90s and realized there’s one girl revealing all the exact secrets to a woman’s heart!

I know, sounds too good to be true, right?

But it’s not!

And I didn’t recognize the value of these songs back when I first heard them. My mind was too much of a stone.

Today, my sponge of a brain is loving and absorbing every one of her secrets.

Yes, I’m talking about the sexy, sassy, feisty and overall badass chick Christina Aguilera.

I’ll admit that when I first heard the song “Dirrty” back in the day, I really disliked her. I thought she was just being slutty and dismissed all of her songs for about a decade.

Today, I’m 100% pro Aguilera and hope I can find a woman with her personality!

I understand the true meaning behind her songs. She’s not slutty or easy.

She’s instead showing the true side of women. Women are strong, sassy, bitchy, moody, sexy, playful, etc. They’re multifaceted. And part of being a woman is being “dirrty” when the mood is right.

Who wants a prude anyways?

Without further ado, here are some of my favorite Christina Aguilera “secrets” songs:

1. Keeps Gettin’ Better

Talks about what it’s like to be a badass chick who is in control of her power. There’s many sides to her and she describes them all.

“Step back, gonna come at you fast
I’m drivin’ out of control, I’m gettin’ ready to crash
Won’t stop shakin’ up what I can
I serve it up in a shot, so suck it down like a man

So baby, yes, I know what I am
And no I don’t give a damn and you’ll be lovin’ it

Some days I’m a super bitch
Up to my old tricks but it won’t last forever
Next day I’m your super girl
Out to save the world and it keeps gettin’ better

Yeah baby, there’s a villain in me
So sexy, sour and sweet and you’ll be lovin’ it

In the blink of an eye, in the speed of the night
I hold the universe up, I’ll make your planets collide
I’ma strap on my boots and I slip on my suit
You see the vixen in me becomes an angel for you”

How awesome! And hot….

2. What a Girl Wants

3. Ain’t No Other Man

4. Can’t Hold Us Down

5. Candyman

“I met him out for dinner on a Friday night
He really had me working up an appetite
He had tattoos up and down his arm
There’s nothing more dangerous than a boy with charm
He’s a one stop shop, makes the panties drop
He’s a sweet-talkin’, sugar coated candy man
A sweet-talkin’, sugar coated candyman

He’s a one stop shop, makes my cherry pop
He’s a sweet-talkin’, sugar coated candy man
A sweet-talkin’, sugar coated candyman

Well by now I’m getting all bothered and hot
When he kissed my mouth he really hit the spot
He had lips like sugar cane
Good things come to boys who wait”

Final Note:

So why are these secrets?

Well because Christina actually writes her own songs. And writing is like journaling, right?

Songs depend on the mood & situation.

So she writes about her life, relationships, mood and feelings. She’s an open book.

And when she makes a music video, she has input in exactly what it should look & feel like.

So she’s putting together lyrics + visual to tell a story about what it feels like to be a strong woman in America and what that type of woman wants in a man.

Enough said!

And now I only wish I can find a woman like this in my life (c’mon law of attraction, let’s make this happen!)

The people’s champ deserves no less. Do you smell (la la la la la laaoow) what I’m cookin?? = )
